This is my third and most important tattoo. It represents my battle with depression and that I just need to “keep calm and sail on.” It’s not quite finished; the colors need to be added, but I’m very happy with it as is.
This is my brand new octopus tattoo. It took four hours and was done by the brilliant Colin at Royal Street Tattoo in Mobile AL. No heartbreaking story behind it I just like the aesthetic of cephalopods and choose an Octo over the Cuttlefish or Squid. But I may end up getting the whole trio!
My first tattoo. The octopus has always been my favorite creature. It represents my unique personality and my ability to adapt to the future ahead. Done by Evan Berry-Arizona @CrawlingSquidTattoo http://www.crawlingsquid.com/
Put simply this is going to be a portal for nautical tattoos (and the occasional super awesome unrelated tattoo). I was finding it difficult to gain inspiration and good source material for my Nautical sleeve, that I am yet to do because of lack of inspiration, apart from a Google search returning the most mediocre results.
fuckyeahtattoos is an awesome place to go if you’re looking for general inspiration so please go there first if that’s what you’re after. You should definitely follow them and maybe spend a few days looking through their archives, as I have done, totally worth it.
I will also attempt to keep an up to date list of great places to get your tattoos so please submit where you guys are getting your ink if you feel that your artist is deserving of more recognition.
To get this up and running I will have to scrape some content from some places. If you notice that it is your ink please get in touch so I can properly credit you and your artist.
